A Prefeitura de São José dos Campos apresentou, nesta quinta-feira (1º), a proposta de concessão do Parque Municipal Roberto Burle Marx, o Parque da Cidade, um dos destinos mais procurados pelas famílias joseenses.
A cerimônia de apresentação do projeto, ocorrida nos galpões da antiga Tecelagem Parahyba, reuniu autoridades municipais e estaduais.
A proposta prevê investimento privado de R$ 181 milhões nos três primeiros anos. A concessão será de 25 anos.
O Estado deve repassar R$ 100 milhões, além dos R$ 12 milhões já liberados para reforma do telhado da Fundação Cultural Cassiano Ricardo.
A Prefeitura ainda deve investir R$ 79 milhões na obra do novo complexo da avenida Sebastião Gualberto.
Inclui ainda a revitalização completa do espaço — símbolo do auge da fase industrial de São José, garantindo uma utilização mais adequada de seu 1,7 milhão de metros quadrados.
O vencedor do edital poderá construir centro equestre com hípica para eventos e provas, restaurante, mall, novo teatro com 902 lugares, museu Olivo Gomes e Burle Marx, Casa do Lago, roda gigante, trilhas e passarelas elevadas, teleférico, lanchonete, trilha para caminhada, uso do rio Paraíba, Centro de Convenções e Eventos, Sala de Cinema e lojas, trilhas de montain bike, bóia-cross e stand-up paddle, pista de ciclismo e arborismo e muito mais.
Patrimônio histórico
A concessão do parque, que é tombado pelo Condephaat e pelo Iphan, vai preservar a diversidade de espécies vegetais e a belíssima paisagem composta por jardins, palmeiras imperiais, lagos, ilhas artificiais, bosques e alamedas. Incluindo os jardins, de autoria de Roberto Burle Marx, e a Residência Olivo Gomes, projetada por Rino Levi.
A Tecelagem Parahyba S/A foi fundada em 14 de março de 1925 por um grupo de empresários brasileiros e portugueses, com o objetivo de fabricar tecidos de algodão.
