Das três iniciativas mineiras selecionadas, duas são da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG): SpiN-TEC, desenvolvida pelo Centro de Tecnologia de Vacinas (CTVacinas), e Calixcoca, das faculdades de Medicina e de Farmácia. Já o projeto “Desenvolvimento de Fitoterápico para Tratamento de Diabetes Mellitus e Obesidade” é da Universidade de Uberaba (Uniube), no Triângulo Mineiro.
